And yet, the influence of the French, especially, led to some of the finest dining in the world. Relax on the beaches...or paint them, or photograph them, or simply enjoy midnight swimming in the China Sea. This tour will focus on the culture of Saigon (now known as HCMC) and surrounding areas.

China
Travel to ancient China. Cities such as Old Town, LiJiang are kept in the "old way." No cars allowed! Very friendly people, comfortable, safe, great lodging, beautiful courtyards, canals flowing down the middle of the cobblestone streets, and some of the best cuisine in Asia. Travel to the border towns of Tibet. Photograph the sincere people in their lovely, and daily, dress.

Grand Canyon and Utah Canyonlands
The canyons are so simple to photograph, and yet so difficult. Their many shapes, constantly changing lighting, coloration, and atmospheric effects are a joy, and yet a challenge for both photographer and artist. We'll show you where to go, how to do it, even how to make digital art from your photos. Gary will demonstrate daily in Oil for the artists!

Eastern Tibet and Western China
Tibet is a land of extremes: Mountains that don't stop rising into the sky. Native people who appear to have grown out of the soil, until you see their quick, friendly smiles. You will see much of the border area of Tibet, as well as border areas in China, including Dali, Li Jiang, and of course Kunming, where we will have a short course in professional figure photography by one of China's rising stars in photography.

Big Sur, and Monterey Bay
You'll never be satisfied to simply see "the beach" again, after this trip. The waves, rocks, seals, flowers, atmosphere, and wonderful temperature lend themselves to enjoying "Steinbeck" country.

Castles and Cathedrals of Southern Poland
This land is known for it's many cathedrals, aging 500 to well over 1000 years old. Visit Krakow, a seat for European arts. Photograph the countryside, the markets, and of course, hang out in the castles!
